After the results of JEE Advanced 2025, it has become clear that IIT Bombay has a special place in the hearts of top rankers across the country. According to the report of the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC), this time 73 out of the top 100 rankers made IIT Bombay their first choice. At the same time, 19 students chose IIT Delhi and 6 students chose IIT Madras. This means that about three-fourths of the top rankers are going to be a part of IIT Bombay this year. This figure shows that the popularity of IIT Bombay is constantly increasing among meritorious students.
Increased demand for seats and additional admissions
The report also revealed that more students have been admitted to IITs than the seats. For example, IIT Bombay has a total of 1360 seats, but till the last round, 1364 admissions were made here. This trend shows how excited the students are about studying at IIT Bombay. This is the reason why Bombay is constantly maintaining its demand compared to other IITs.
Still difference in gender ratio
The JIC report also shed light on this year’s gender ratio. It was told that a total of 14,524 seats have been taken by boys, while 3,664 seats have been taken by girls. This difference clearly shows that the number of girls in IIT is still less. Although the participation of women is gradually increasing compared to the last few years, but this figure is still far behind compared to boys.
Exam, Success and Topper Zone
The JEE Advanced 2025 exam was conducted on 18 May at 258 centers in 155 cities across the country. Lakhs of students took part in it, out of which a total of 54,378 candidates were successful. Out of these, the most talked about are those top rankers, who set a new example with hard work and dedication. According to the report, among the top 10, 4 candidates are from IIT Delhi zone, 3 candidates are from IIT Bombay zone, 2 candidates are from IIT Hyderabad zone and 1 candidate is from IIT Kanpur zone. This also shows that talent is emerging from different parts of the country, but the choice of the rankers remains IIT Bombay.
