The Assam government has laid the foundation of a magnificent and modern administrative infrastructure in Dibrugarh. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated this Rs 65 crore project. Under this project, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Offices, a grand convention center and several departmental offices will be built. This center is being prepared keeping in mind the modern administrative needs which will prove to be very useful for Upper Assam.
Total area and grand design
The project is located under Bilsi 2 and is divided into two major plots. The area of the first plot is 7,780 square meters while the second is 8,360 square meters. The total construction area is spread over about 1,73,729 square feet. The entire administrative complex has been designed in such a way that it not only increases efficiency but also provides a better environment for those working there. The project has been designed with the aim of creating a grand and permanent structure.

Aim of speed and transparency in government work
Through this project, the government is trying to speed up the administrative work of Upper Assam and simplify the decision-making process. According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, this project reflects the “culture of work” of the government. This will facilitate people in getting administrative services in a major city like Dibrugarh and they will not have to go to the capital Guwahati. This is an effort to strengthen governance at the local level.
Political and administrative support
Medical Education and Research Minister Prasanta Phukan, Industry and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora, Transport Minister and Guardian Minister of Dibrugarh Jogen Mohan and many MLAs were present at the inauguration ceremony of this project. Such solidarity shows the government’s commitment to development. The presence of local MLAs also shows that this project has full support of the regional public representatives.
Assam’s administrative structure will get a new dimension
This administrative complex to be built in Dibrugarh is not just a building but a big step in the governance system of Assam. This will accelerate development and administrative reforms not only in Dibrugarh but in the entire Upper Assam. This effort under the leadership of Chief Minister Sarma will set an example in connecting the people of the state closely with the administration.
