Police said that the age of both the accused security personnel or warders Hareshwar Kalita and Gajendra Kalita is between 45 to 50 years. Both of them are residents of Panjabari and Boragaon areas of Guwahati. When the police got information about the incident, a team immediately reached the spot and arrested both. Additional Superintendent of Police Pranabjyoti Kalita said that the victim is mentally challenged and has been admitted to the hospital. In the initial investigation, it is believed that the girl was alone on the road at that time and the accused took advantage of this.

The police officer said that a case has been registered against the accused in this case and both will be produced in the court soon. The police also said that all possible help will be provided to the victim.
