Assam Police has seized about 1500 kg of drugs in a major action against drugs. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma himself gave this information. He said that this huge amount of narcotics has been seized in two separate operations. This action has given a big blow to the drugs network running in the state. The Chief Minister said that our government is running a campaign against drugs with full force and it will continue in future as well.
963 kg of ganja recovered in Kokrajhar
Chief Minister Sarma said that the police has achieved a major success in Kokrajhar district. A total of 963.19 kg of ganja has been seized from there. This operation was carried out in a completely secretive manner. The police had received information in advance that a large quantity of ganja was being brought. On this basis, the investigation campaign was started and the ganja hidden in the truck was seized. Many suspects are also being questioned in this operation.

Big success in second operation too
Apart from this, in another separate operation, the police have recovered a large amount of drugs. Although Chief Minister Sarma did not share the complete details of this operation, but he clearly said that in total about 1500 kg of drugs have come under the possession of the police. It is clear from this that the Assam Police is keeping a constant watch on the drug mafia and is not taking any laxity in crushing their activities.
Strict policy of the government against drugs
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that our campaign against drugs will continue without stopping. He also said that drugs not only ruin the society but also the future generations. In such a situation, the state government has decided to root out the drug network. The police department is being supported at every level and if needed, more strict steps will be taken. It is the policy of the Assam government that no person associated with the drug business will be spared.
