In the Panchayat elections held in Assam, BJP and its ally Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) together have registered a landslide victory. This time the BJP-led NDA has won a total of 300 Zilla Parishad seats and 1,436 Anchalik Panchayat seats. BJP leaders have described this excellent performance as a result of the public’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development policy.

Home Minister Amit Shah thanked the people of Assam and said that this victory is a proof of the public welfare and transformative schemes of Prime Minister Modi.
