After the Pahalgam terror attack, Assam Police has started strict action against Pakistan supporters . So far, the police have arrested more than 50 people in this case. Many of them include students and an MLA. 26 people were killed in this terrorist attack on April 22, most of whom were tourists. Among those arrested, a 25-year-old youth has been caught from Telangana who had posted suspicious posts on social media.
Several arrests were made on the complaint of ABVP
Many of those arrested are accused of making statements or posts in support of Pakistan after the attack. ABVP is a student organization associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) which is linked to the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed about this entire action on the social media platform X and called the accused “traitors”.
