Plan to increase the pace of development in Bodoland! CM Sarma called a high-level meeting

On Wednesday, a high-level meeting was held at the Lok Seva Bhawan in Dispur under the chairmanship of CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The objective of this meeting was to review the progress of the development schemes going on in the Bodoland Territorial Region i.e. BTR. Senior officials of various departments and Chief Executive Member of BTR Pramod Boro were also present in this meeting. Special attention was given in the meeting to how the government schemes are being effectively delivered to the grassroots level.

Emphasis on strengthening the administrative system

BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that the meeting mainly discussed further strengthening the administrative system and creating better coordination between various departments. He said that the effect of the schemes will be visible only when all the departments work together and mutual coordination is maintained. Along with this, there is also a need to ensure that government services and benefits reach the general public on time and effectively.

Incomplete projects should be completed fast and road connectivity should be better

There was also a special discussion on infrastructure development in the meeting. The Chief Minister told the officials that road, bridge and other infrastructure projects should be completed expeditiously so that traffic in the region improves and economic activities are accelerated. Connectivity problems still persist in many places in the BTR region, which affects the daily lives of the people. The government now wants to solve these challenges on priority basis.

BTR’s initiatives towards inclusive and sustainable development

Pramod Boro also said that under the leadership of the CM Sarma, all efforts are being made for the inclusive development of BTR and Assam. The government is trying to bring the light of development not only to big cities but also to remote villages. Special schemes are being run on subjects like education, health, livelihood and women’s empowerment and their impact will be even more clear in the coming times. He said that the overall development of BTR is the real direction of the state’s development.
