The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched a major campaign to spread awareness about cleanliness in Delhi. The campaign is going to run for 20 days with the aim of cleaning the public places of Delhi. NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra started the campaign from Saifdar Hashmi Marg, which is located between Mandi House Circle and Bengali Market. The initiative is part of a comprehensive cleanliness drive announced by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta last week. The campaign began on May 3 and aims to bring a visible change in the public spaces of Delhi.

Cleanliness drive will run for 20 days

NDMC Vice President Kuljit Singh Chahal, while talking about this drive, said, “Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken this initiative that we will implement the same resolve of Prime Minister Modi to keep India clean in Delhi. We will run a cleanliness drive for 20 days. All the employees and officers of NDMC will stay on the roads and do the cleaning work for these 20 days. We are all working with one objective, in which a developed Delhi and developed NDMC will be built, this step has been taken in this direction. Delhi will be clean and healthy.”

Chief Minister also took part in the cleanliness drive

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also actively participated in this cleanliness drive. She took part in the cleanliness drive at the Hanuman Mandir complex in Connaught Place and also performed Puja-Archana. On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “Cleanliness drive is being carried out in the NDMC area, and civic agencies and the government in Delhi are actively running it. We are giving a message to everyone that now everyone has to come out and contribute to the cleanliness drive. Everyone should participate in this campaign and try to make Delhi a beautiful and better city. I believe that clean Delhi is the right of the citizens.”

Appeal for public participation in cleanliness drive

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta appealed to the people of Delhi to participate in this campaign and said that cleanliness is not just the work of the government or agencies, but it is the duty of every citizen. She informed that under this campaign, cleaning will be done in various parts of Delhi, and it will be ensured that cleanliness is maintained in public places. This campaign is being run with priority by NDMC and other local bodies so that Delhi can be made clean and healthy. Kuljit Singh Chahal was also present on this occasion and motivated everyone for the success of the campaign.
