The Prime Minister said that Dr. Kasturirangan also played an important role in preparing a new National Education Policy according to the needs of modern education of the 21st century.
India’s international assistance
Prime Minister Modi also talked about international assistance. He said that Indian doctors saved many lives in the earthquake in Myanmar last month. The Indian team prepared a field hospital for the people trapped in the debris and assessed the damage to important buildings. Apart from this, the Indian team sent blankets, tents, medicines, food items and other essential items to the people in Myanmar. The Prime Minister also informed that the Indian community in Ethiopia has taken the initiative to send children suffering from congenital heart diseases to India for treatment and Indian families have also provided financial support for this.
India’s export of medicines and aid
PM Modi also informed that recently India has sent a large consignment of medicines and vaccines to Afghanistan and Nepal, which will prove helpful in the treatment of the people there.
