Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma made a big claim - targeted Congress MP without naming him

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday made a shocking claim that an MP from the state stayed in Pakistan for 15 days without informing the Indian government. Although he did not name anyone, his reference was clearly towards Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. BJP and Chief Minister Sarma have been constantly cornering Gogoi over his alleged links with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI through his British wife Elizabeth Colburn. The CM said that it is not a trivial matter that an MP goes to Pakistan quietly and does not even consider it necessary to inform the government.

Relation with Pakistan Embassy also revealed, warning of further disclosure

Speaking to reporters during the campaign for the Panchayat elections, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The state government has information that an MP stayed in Islamabad for 15 days. He also has a connection with the Pakistan Embassy. A lot more information will come out now.” He said that by September 30, the people of the state will be shown with proof how the son of a proud father stood against the country. The Chief Minister said that he has proof that the MP did not inform the Indian government about his stay in Islamabad. Sarma also said that he learned to offer Namaaz there and now pictures and videos of him offering Namaaz on occasions like Ramzan and Eid are coming out.

Ramzan Namaaz also became the reason for target

The Chief Minister, without naming Gaurav Gogoi, raised questions by linking him to the symbols of Muslim religion. He said that he has many proofs which tell what the MP learned by staying in Pakistan and for what purpose he went there. Sarma said that all this is not just a matter of religious faith but the issue of national security is also involved in it. BJP had earlier also made the video and photo of Gogoi offering Namaaz viral on social media and accused him of double standards. The CM said that people who praise Pakistan while living in the country are bigger enemies than the enemies outside.

It is difficult to identify the enemy sitting inside the house – Sarma

Chief Minister Sarma said, “Pakistan is our biggest enemy but those who praise Pakistan while staying inside the country are even bigger enemies. It is easy to identify the enemy outside but it is difficult to identify the enemies hiding inside the house.” He said that all the evidence the government has will be gradually brought before the public so that the truth can be revealed to everyone. Sarma repeatedly reiterated in his speech that the public will have to identify such people themselves who are involved in anti-national activities and they will have to be answered through democracy.
