Double Murder Case: Police has given important information in the heart-wrenching double murder case in Kottayam. According to the police, Amit Orang, a resident of Assam, who had previously worked in this house, is behind this murder. An important clue was found from the nearby CCTV footage in which a person is seen walking near the house. Police has confirmed that the same person is Amit Orang. After examining the fingerprints found on the axe used in the murder, it became completely clear that these are Amit’s marks. Police sources said that Amit has been arrested earlier in a theft case and his fingerprints were taken then.
Accused Amit Orang absconded after the murder
According to the police report, Amit has left Kerala after committing the crime and is currently absconding. His last mobile location was found in Salem area of Tamil Nadu. He has about ten mobile phones and many SIM cards through which he contacts different people. Police suspect that he changes phones and SIMs frequently to hide his identity. Amit was earlier accused of stealing mobile phones from Vijaykumar’s house and cheating him of money and had also gone to jail. Police also suspect that after being released from jail, he returned to this house again and there was an argument over something which led to violence.
There were 16 CCTV cameras installed in the house but the incident took place
This murder incident is said to have taken place on Monday night between 12:30 am and 1 am. There were a total of 16 CCTV cameras installed in the house but still the criminal intruded very cleverly. It is believed that he opened the window glass and removed the grill with some tool which gave him access to the door latch. The most shocking thing was that the gardener Bond Raj was sleeping in the outhouse outside the house but he was completely unaware of this incident. Bond Raj cannot hear so he did not know anything. When the domestic help Revamma reached home on Tuesday morning, the murder came to light.
A mountain of grief had broken on the three-member family earlier too
The head of this house, T.K. Vijayakumar (64) and his wife Dr. Meera Vijayakumar (60) were brutally murdered. Both were first hit on the head with an axe and then suffocated with a pillow. This is the same family whose son Gautham Vijayakumar died under mysterious circumstances in 2017. Gautham’s body was found on the railway track in Thellakam and the CBI investigation in that case began only a few days ago. Now the family’s daughter Gayatri lives in the US and was recently married. This is the second time the family has faced such a gruesome tragedy.
