On Monday, Assam Rifles rescued and airlifted a two-year-old girl from a remote village in Kambjong district of Manipur. In a statement, it was told that the girl, Miss Chuishut, a resident of Grehang village, fell into a water tank at 5:40 am. This village is one of the most remote and difficult to reach areas of Manipur, where there are neither proper roads nor was there any hope of getting immediate medical help. In this situation, the villagers were worried that the girl might not get timely treatment.
The girl got timely treatment due to the promptness of Assam Rifles
When the villagers informed Assam Rifles about this accident, Assam Rifles soldiers and medical personnel immediately reached the spot. The statement said that the soldiers of Assam Rifles reached the village on time and gave first aid to the girl and stabilized her condition. The soldiers then called a military helicopter, which airlifted the girl to the Assam Rifles Military Hospital in Imphal, the state capital of Manipur. The girl was safely brought to the hospital with the help of the helicopter, and despite all the challenges, the promptness and coordination of the soldiers ensured that the girl was taken to the specialists on time.

The girl received specialist medical care at the Assam Rifles Military Hospital
The girl received specialist pediatric care at the Assam Rifles Military Hospital in Imphal, which saved her life. The statement said that this timely medical assistance was extremely important and if there was further delay, the girl’s life could have been in danger. The girl’s parents thanked the Assam Rifles, saying, “We thought we would lose her, but the Assam Rifles gave her back to us.” This sentence became a symbol of great success not only for the girl’s parents, but also for the soldiers and doctors of Assam Rifles.
Assam Rifles’ heroic act instills confidence in local communities
This heroic and selfless act of Assam Rifles once again proved that the force plays its role not only in security but also in humanitarian service. Especially in the remote areas of the North-Eastern regions where it is extremely difficult to reach, the readiness and dedication of Assam Rifles instills deep confidence in the local communities. During the 2024 floods in Manipur, Assam Rifles along with other disaster response teams rescued hundreds of civilians who were stranded in the flood waters. Former Chief Minister of the state N. Biren Singh also thanked Assam Rifles for their contribution.
